Lizard Squadを名乗るハッカー集団により、PlayStation Network、Xbox Live、League of Legends(PvP.net)、Blizzard(Battle.net)、Path of Exileなどが攻撃を受け、接続できない状況や接続しづらいといった障害が発生していることが明らかになった。

SCEはPlayStation BlogにPSNの状況について投稿したが、個人情報の流出はないとのこと。

Game Informerによると、一時的にダウンしていたPSNのサーバーは復旧したとのこと。
BlizzardのBattle.netは攻撃を受け一時的にダウンしたが現在は復旧している。また、Xbox Liveも当初は断続的に障害が発生していたが、現時点では復旧したものとみられる。
また、ハッカー集団が「爆弾が仕掛けられている」とTwitterに投稿したアメリカン航空の362便が急遽フェニックスのスカイハーバー空港に不時着したが、その乗客の中にSony Online EntertainmentのJohn Smedley社長がいることが明らかになった。
