Riot Gamesが、「League of Legends」のMMOを開発していることが明らかになった
Riot GamesのGreg Street氏が自身のTwitterに、League of LegendsのMMOを開発している旨を投稿した。
Street氏は新たに開発を始めるゲームを「the League universe（リーグユニバース）」と呼んでおり、”ビッグな（マッシブと呼ぶ人もいる）”、”大勢のRioter達が作ってくれと頼まれていたもの”だとしている。
I have news!
My recent job at Riot has been to help develop the League universe, which we’re going to need!
Because it is time. My new job is to kick off a big (some might say massive) game that many of you, and many Rioters, have been asking us to create.

Street氏は過去にBlizzard EntertainmentでWorld of Warcraftのシステムデザイナーをしていた事があるため、彼がLoLのMMOの開発に携わっているのは不思議な話ではないだろう。
2019年の初頭に、Riot Gamesの社員がLeague of LegendsのMMOを否定した事を考えると、ごく最近になってプロジェクトがスタートした可能性が高そうだ。
