Activision Blizzardが、ヨーロッパのゲームレーティング機関のPEGI（Pan European Game Information）から罰金を科されたことが明らかになった。
Activision Blizzardは、スマートフォン/PC用ゲーム「ディアブロイモータル」をレーティング審査のために提出した際、ゲーム内課金要素であるルートボックスについて記載しなかったため、規則に違反したとされている。
PEGI執行委員会はActivision Blizzardに対し、5000ユーロ（約74万円）の罰金を科したとのこと。
PEGIでは2020年4月から、ゲーム内に課金要素がある場合、ラベルへの掲載を義務づけている。
一方、今回の罰金の額を巡って、海外のコミュニティでは批判の声が上がっている。大企業に対して5000ユーロ程度の罰金では、サービス開始後に罰金を払わされたとしても、痛くも痒くもないため、ガチャやルートボックスの存在を事前に隠しておくことができ、リリース前の批判を抑える事が可能だと指摘されている。
